10 Tips to Host the Greatest Wedding Ever!

It’s been several months since my big day and I feel like the TikTok lessons are not the most useful. Like having a social content person for your wedding is not the most important part of the day, I’m sorry to break it to you. If you plan your day right, you will remember it.

Choose Your Vibe

Your vibe will set the tone for your wedding, your planning, your crew, all of it. Is your vibe classic? Is it super family oriented? Intimate? I wanted mine to be a party and that set the energy that I brought to my layout, menu, DJ, and everything in between.

Set Boundaries Early

I honestly wish I had done this sooner. Not because anything heinous happened, but I think I would’ve felt more confident not only in making decisions but asking for help if I’d established the boundaries better.

Give Your Budget Wiggle Room

When you set your budget set it lower than your actual cap. You are going to go over budget, so plan to have that padding. Also, don’t be afraid to think outside the box (peep our Publix wedding cake)!

Delegate

Like the boundaries you set, give the people in your corner a role. Just because there are boundaries doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have community. I honestly wish I delegated more but I could not have gotten through this without my crew.

Respect and Enjoy Your Bride Squad

This was the best part of my weekend (outside of marrying my man of course) was spending quality time with my girls. Friendship is just as important than your romantic relationship and honoring those, especially the girls who’ve been there through it all. They’re essential and shouldn’t be treated as mere worker bees.

Have Fun

Once the weekend comes, it’s in God’s hands girl. Have fun, it’ll be what it’ll be.

Choose Your “fun” Item and Stick to It

Everyone should have their fun thing. Mine was a 360 photobooth. Find your thing within your budget and stick with it, don’t look at the cool things everyone else has and compare.

It’s Okay to Cry

of course you’re gonna cry on the day of, but it’s okay to cry on the journey there too.

Do the Honeymoon Later

If you are overwhelmed don’t be afraid to delay your honeymoon. I just returned from mine and I wouldn’t change a thing. I got some time to settle in and plan and I still enjoyed my honeymoon all the same even with the months between.

Enjoy Your Partner

This is the hardest one to do as people are stopping you as you pass and wanting to congratulate you and take pictures, but be intentional about enjoying your night with your boo. You two’s union is the most important part of the evening, without it you wouldn’t be there.

What do you think your wedding vibe is? Let me know in the comments.
