This blog post was made in partnership with Ancient Cosmetics, but all opinions are my own.
Hi friends! I’m back after a much-needed mental health break! I’ve missed blogging so much but was feeling super uninspired due to some factors in my personal life, but alas, that’s what self-care is for. And you know what goes perfectly with self-care? Some products to take care of yourself at home! That’s why I’m super excited to partner with Ancient Cosmetics, a black-owned vegan skincare brand, to help you plan your self-care day!
10 am – Make a Delicious Breakfast
What’s self-care without delicious food? My personal favorite thing to make for an indulgent breakfast is pancakes at home. Elevate it with a little bit of vanilla extract or replace the syrup with a berry compote to make it #fancy.
11 am – At Home Mani Pedi w/ a Hand Massage

Next up, I’ve been loving painting my nails at home lately. It’s a great way to feel more polished when you’re feeling down and a hand massage right before polishing feels AMAZING.
For this, I definitely recommend one of the Ancient Cosmetics body butters. I personally am obsessed with Island Mango for a tropical and fruity scent. But other scents I love include Sugar Rush, which makes it smells like a bakery right in my bedroom, and Watch me Blossom, for a subtle floral moment. Ancient Cosmetics products are all hand made and you can tell by the light, airy, and whipped texture of these butters!

3 pm – Go for a Walk

Please, please please go outside! Fresh air and sunlight is so important. Even if it’s a 5 minute lap around the block, I’m begging you to take it!
4 pm – Shower w/ Body Scrub
Once you’re home from that walk, it’s time to shower. I am not the biggest fan of bubble baths, even though I am a sucker for a good bath bomb, so I often use a body scrub and shower tablets to get a similar effect without sitting in the tub staring at a tv show in the corner. Lately, I’ve been using the Ancient Cosmetics Blueberry Mint body scrub because it smells amazing and the avocado and grapeseed oils keep me feeling soft and supple after each use. If you’re not down for the mint I also recommend the Tropical Pineapple and Healthy Glow Turmeric body scrubs!
PS. Don’t be afraid to pull out that body butter again after your shower!
5 pm – A Glass of Wine and a Movie
This one is for the 21+ readers unless you skip the wine. Light a candle, pop on your comfort movie, eat some pizza (or a salad we don’t judge here) and indulge. If you’re feeling like some added luxury, feel free to also add a face mask! For this Turmeric Face Mask you’d mix the powder with a bit of water but you can also mix the powder with milk, yogurt, or honey too! Check out some of my favorite comfort movies in this blog post.
If you can’t tell I love self care and I’ve fallen in love with Ancient Cosmetics. It feels good to support a black owned business, with high quality products so please check them out using the links above!
