Hi buds, I have once again gone MIA, but COVID-19 has given me the best reason to return, I literally have nothing else to do (lol). So with that said, when is the best time to revisit a hobby after a long time away, and how do you get back into it?
1. What are your goals here?
Are you picking up this hobby to make money? If so more power to you, but in my honest opinion doing something for money isn’t a true hobby, it’s a job. A hobby is done during leisure time for pleasure. Are you trying to get better at something? Great then start an action plan for it, look up what resources you need.
2. Why did you step away from it?
Did life get hectic? Did you lose your passion for it? Did it begin to bore you? This is super important because it’ll really make or break your decision-making process. If you stepped away because you didn’t love it anymore then I think you should do some self-reflection and go back to question one.
3. How much can you take on right now?
Do you have the bandwidth to do this right now? This goes into the process of getting back into the hobby. Decide how much time you can dedicate and then assess if that’s enough to get it done in the way you’d like. Can you make it work in your current reality?
4. What do you need to start back up?
Do you need supplies? Start making a list so that you have what you need to get started on the right foot!
Do you have a hobby you’d like to revisit? Let me know what it is in the comments and why you stopped.
PS: Do not let the internet bully you into overworking yourself and staying “productive” during this unprecedented and stressful time.
