On May 11th I officially graduated from Howard University, the place where I’ve learned so many lessons I don’t know where to start so I think I’ll begin with a thank you. You’ve shown me more about myself than I ever thought I’d want to know. You’ve shown me that when I want something I have the tenacity to get it, you’ve shown me its okay to be my quirkiest self, and you’ve shown me the beauty of friends who feel like sisters all over again. You weren’t perfect, not by a long shot but you were everything that I needed these past four years. So, here is my final goodbye:
Dear Howard University,
Thank you for 4 years of ups and downs, good homecomings and awful ones, tears of all kinds, movie screenings and concerts, amazing opportunities, an even better education, and so much more. Thank you for being my home these past few years and goodbye. I am now off to start the career your campus has equipped me for. You’ll be missed.
Love,
Sydney
