If anyone understands boredom it is me. I am a second-semester college senior who has an extremely light courseload and way too much downtime. So here are 20 fun (and cheap) things to do when boredom is getting the best of you.
Clean your room I mean why not? You’re sitting around anyway why not be productive.
Read a book I love reading and it’s an amazing way to pass the time. Check out some of my favorite reads here.
Work on your hobby Whether it’s blogging, a Youtube channel, knitting, or painting this a great time to improve at your hobby or just get back to what you enjoy.
Start a new Netflix series There is literally ALWAYS something new to watch or Netflix. My personal recommendations? On My Block or One Day at a Time
Do a ton of Buzzfeed quizzes This is a personal favorite of mine. Why not take this opportunity to find out what kind of cheese you are based on your taste in movies?
Try a new recipe You know you have something saved on Pinterest you’d love to try.
Take a nap Another personal favorite because who doesn’t love a nap.
Write a book I mean why not? Who knows you might have a best seller on your hands.
Journal It’s a great way to clear your head and work through your emotions. 10/10 would recommend.
Face mask Skincare is always a good decision.
Watch Youtube videos Catch up on your favorite vlogs, watch a makeup tutorial, or even a movie review.
Listen to a podcast Podcasts are always a great way to pass the time. Check out a few of my favorites here.
Exercise Get your summer body ready instead of just tweeting about it!
Plan a vacation It’s a great way to set a goal of traveling for yourself and getting excited to explore the world
Go for a walk Enjoy nature and the fresh air!
Organize something in your home It could be your kitchen, bathroom, or closet just put together a neater system for everything.
Learn a language Duolingo is a great app to help you do this.
Call your family When was the last time you called your favorite aunt.
Throw yourself a dance party Put on your favorite song and dance around like no one’s watching, because nobody is.
Clean your makeup brushes Be honest with me, when was the last time you did this?
And that is 20 things to do when you’re bored! Let me know what you like to do when you’re bored in the comments.

This is so good! I do all of these things when I get bored.. especially cleaning my room (and the house in general). Learning a language is also a good one.. I taught myself the Japanese alphabets and basic speaking skills out of pure boredom! I love this post and thanks for sharing! 🙂
I love these ideas! They are productive ways to fill the time. I have been working out more purposefully and find it is really helpful with my overall productivity.
these are awesome ideas… and I love the first one. I mean.. you’re right. why not?!
These are all great things to do when bored. My personal favorites are napping, organizing things, binge watching something on Netflix, reading and snacking.
I love this! I do most of these things when I’m bored. Especially, read a book & watch netflix. Great job!
This is a great list! I have definitely gone to many of these myself, it’s awesome to have them all in one list to reference when those moments of not knowing what to do with yourself come up.
These are all pretty simple ideas and can easily be done without much fuss. I have the habit of binging YouTube when board. Definitely not as productive as it can be.
In my downtime I love to read or write. I try to clean my room but that never works. My other favorite thing is working out.
Very good post! No doubt I won’t get bored these days!
