I Tried a Chemical Exfoliant

I follow a lot of beauty related accounts on social media, especially Twitter. So when I saw @LaBeautyologist discussing chemical exfoliation versus physical exfoliation I got curious. I don’t have major skin concerns, but the texture of my skin troubles me, so I decided to give one a try. The issue is I was broke, and all the products I found were not exactly college student friendly. But, I stumbled across one product First Aid Beauty’s Facial Radiance Pads and decided that this may be what I was searching for.

When I initially tried the product the first thing I noticed was the smell, it wasn’t gross but it smelt like chemicals, which wasn’t surprising. I understood this wasn’t a face mask and that I was going to have to try this multiple times before I saw any results, but after around 2-3 weeks, and only using the pads maybe twice to three times a week both myself and my friends saw a change in the texture of my skin. I had noticed that after some time of washing my face with a physical exfoliant and that it was doing more harm than good and that I wasn’t having issues with my skin with this product and that I was happier with it than I had been using an extremely abrasive Lush product.

I went back and tried it after a breakout and I promise you that this product definitely works wonders for me. Even if you don’t get this specific one I promise you that chemical exfoliation is my new wave.

I got 28 of these face pads at Sephora for $15, but a container of 60 is $30. Just one note, I’m no esthetician or dermatologist but these pads worked for me. How do you exfoliate? Let me know in the comments!
