Syd’s Make-up Favorites

I will be the first to admit that my make up skills are sub par. But, I think my face looks pretty good from time to time. I spend way too much time in make up aisles, Sephora, and Ulta and I definitely have a few products that I can’t live without*:

Becca Aqua Luminious Foundation in Warm Honey

This is my favorite and even though it’s pricey I think it’s worth every penny (and I made it stretch for as long as possible). I have normal to dry skin and the finish on this is not too dewy so when the sun is beating on my face all day the sweat doesn’t make it worse.

Nars Radiant Concealer in Biscuit

My obsession was this product can be traced back to Youtuber, Jackie Aina. She raved about this product on her channel and since Jackie keeps it real I decided to check it out. This concealer is everything. I was concerned at first because most products Jackie uses are great for oily skin and concealers have the tendency to make me look like a struggle. However, this concealer doesn’t give me any issues as long as I don’t go crazy with how much I put on. Also super pricey but  I wouldn’t change a thing.

Mac Studio Conceal and Correct Duo in Burnt Coral

So in all honesty I got this product because Sephora was out of my shade in another color corrector I wanted so I journeyed around the mall until I could find another concealer that would work for my shade. (Good sis at Sephora tried to give me one the color of millenial pink I kid you not). But I stumbled upon this. I rarely use it but when I do it works so well. I don’t use the concealer side because that shade is a waste so my next step is to try to get just the orange next time I need to repurchase.

Black Opal Deluxe Finishing Powder in Neutral Light

I love this powder. I obviously don’t bake often and when I do I don’t let it sit for long but I love. love, love this powder. It enhances the finish on my skin so well and I’m so glad my friend found it in the store because none of the Walmarts near me had it in stock.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop

becca

So, I’m not ashamed to admit that I am addicted to highlighter. It’s actually the only reason I got into make up in the first place. But when I say this is my favorite highlighter I’m not kidding I basically wear it everyday. I have two Becca highlighters (I got Rose Gold for Christmas and Champagne Pop for my birthday) and I’m obsessed with them but Champagne Pop is definitely my favorite out of the two. Again, costly so put it on a wish list?

Black Radiance True Complexion Contour Palette

contour

A God send. This palette not only is my favorite contour color now but also has a great highlight shade. I usually cream contour but my new morning routine before work had me start using this every day and I’m so glad I did.

Makeup Revolution Palette Ultra Blush Palette in Sugar & Spice

I bought this after my friend let me borrow it when I was getting ready last summer. I love two shades in this palette more than the rest. Go to shades: the second on the top row and the third on the bottom row

The sponge

sponge

Honestly, when I started make up I didn’t see the point of a beauty blender (I have since changed my mind and plan on purchasing one). But when I say a sponge I mean any sponge because these multipurpose blessings are the best. I use it for foundation now because my stipple brush would shed way too much and I needed to change techniques ASAP. I love the way it applies my product and I don’t see why I did it any other way .

MAC Clear Lipglass

glass 2

Similar to my color corrector issue, I bought this because everyone else was out of clear lip gloss and I felt like I couldn’t live without one. I was right, this is one of my favorite glosses and I wear it constantly.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss in Tickle-Me-Peach

I love this gloss. I said that the MAC clear was one of my favorites but this is my favorite. I just got it a  couple months ago but I wear it basically everyday. It’s so cute and flattering plus it smells (and tastes) amazing.

Too Faced Melted Matte in Naughty by Nature

toofaced_naughtybynature001

One of my friends had me try this on in Sephora with her and we both ended up getting one. I love this brown on me and it lasts pretty well throughout the day. It’s not too drying though.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lipgloss in Gilded

gilded

This is another one of my favorite lip products. I don’t wear it as often because it’s not necessarily the most versatile but it’s definitely great to have in my arsenal.

Too Faced Hangoverx Primer

web_hangoverprimer_closed_2

I love this primer. I actually think there’s a direct correlation between my switch to this primer and my love for make up. My make up goes on so much smoother these days and I feel like it lasts longer now that I use this product.

It’s cheap and gets the job done and that’s what matters.

BITE Lipstick in Cremini

bitebeauty_cremini002

I’m pretty sure this lipstick was a part of that nude line of lipsticks that had the internet shook. But when I saw this in Sephora I had to swatch it and when I did I realized I couldn’t live without it. I love this lipstick and it’s become a go to for me.

Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara

This mascara is everything to me, mostly because falsies hate me just as much as I hate them. This mascara gets the job done for me every time.

Sin by MAC

sinThis lipstick has been one of my favorites for a while now. It’s a great color for me because I don’t really like bold colors on myself but this one isn’t bold but isn’t boring.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Dark Brown

brow-definer-dark-brown

I love this product. I’m awaful at browns and my brows don’t work with me at all so filling them in is my least favorite part of doing my day. But this product has definitely made my life a lot easier, even though my brows still suck.
